Had a visit to my dentist today. Have I mentioned that having babies really messes up my body? Not only has it resulted in this bald-patch foolishness, but it wrecks my teeth, too. I got four fillings today. Four. In one shot. My mouth hurts. My head hurts. The anesthetic wore off between the first and second tooth, so I may have screamed and/or jumped a little when the drilling started up for the second tooth.
I'm falling apart! Good grief. On to the food:
Breakfast - Fried eggs and sweet potato latkes, at my husband's request. Also coffee (of course) with coconut milk.
Lunch - Cubed chicken breast, an Italian sausage and sauteed baby bok choy. (Had to eat lunch with a sleeping baby on my lap again.)
Supper - Spaghetti sauce on spaghetti squash with loads of bell peppers.
Snacks - Another sausage, a bowl of cantaloupe, half a banana and half a muffin.
Hey Jac, well, at least you know. Phew. A colleague of mine at work has the same thing and she hasn't experienced it in 12 years now. I how yours gets better pronto and you get a nice long stretch of hair bountifulness (yeah, that's not even a word.)
ReplyDeleteI think you are one of the strongest people I know to maintain this W30 right now, and all the dietary changes in general. You are really demonstrating huge strength over emotional eating. Good for you! I tried the Paleo Comfort Foods fried chicken tonight and love it. Thanks for reminding me to try that recipe. Do you own the cookbook? I want that one and Well Fed, but haven't taken the plunge yet since there is so much available for free on the web.
Wow, Nicole, thanks for the great affirmation. I really think that eating this way has helped me tremendously in getting through this hair thing without packing on 5 extra pounds. So many times I've wanted to just pig out to distract myself from all of this, but it's hard to pig out on this kind of food! My body just knows when to stop.
ReplyDeleteI bought Paleo Comfort Foods, and honestly, I wish I hadn't bothered. So much of the food in it just isn't my style. There are enough things that I don't feel like it was a total waste of money, but a friend of mine wants it and I think we might trade - my PCF for her Primal Blueprint cookbook. (I definitely hope to end up more on the Primal end of the primal-paleo spectrum at the end of all this.) If there are any PCF recipes you want to try out before splurging on the book, let me know and I can send you a copy of the recipe(s).
